Stygian is a contemporary circus production by circus artist Onni Toivonen and musician Konsta Leinonen, in which virtuoso juggling, object manipulation, and a rich live soundscape come together.

The work takes the audience on an abstract and psychologically charged journey to the boundaries of obsession, devotion, and control. On stage, objects, the body, and the vibrations of the bass create a twilight world where balance seems possible, but only fleetingly.

Stygian takes its name from the River Styx in Greek mythology, which marks the boundary between the world of the living and the afterlife. However, the work does not strictly draw on the pantheon of gods; rather, it draws inspiration from the darkness of the River Styx, the liminal space, and the atmosphere of being on the threshold.

The performers are Onni Toivonen and Konsta Leinonen. Tuomas Honkanen is responsible for set and lighting design, Olli Vuorinen serves as dramaturg and outside eye, and Nuua Company is the co-producer.
