Nuua Company’s *Meanwhile* is a performance that combines contemporary circus, visual theater, and object manipulation, exploring the use of time and the strange proportions of contemporary culture. The work constructs a world that mirrors today’s culture and plays with all the seemingly pointless ways in which people spend their time.

Directed by Olli Vuorinen, the performance combines captivating and dramatic moments with minimalist comedy, juggling, object manipulation, and visual theater. On stage, everyday objects are transformed into strange, poetic, and at times absurd symbols, through which the performance asks what is ultimately necessary and what is superfluous.

Meanwhile is a work that is at once playful, surreal, and thought-provoking. It leaves room for the viewer’s own interpretations and raises the question of how our values can change when we stop to look at something we’ve grown accustomed to regarding as insignificant.
