Polkuharmooni-synapop artist Minttu Hellstén is the rising star of dark, atmospheric art pop. Minttu’s music is a uniquely captivating blend of organic and synthetic sounds that speaks to the depths of the mind, where deep basslines meet honest sensitivity and the sound of the polkuharmoni.
Born in Elimäki, surrounded by fields, Minttu—whose path has led her to East Helsinki—focuses on creating powerful worlds and atmospheres. Her music has been described as visual, cathartic, and original, embracing the listener. Hellstén’s songs are combined with electronic production, which she has created together with Tomi Hyyppä. Hyyppä is known for the internationally acclaimed electropop duo Villa Nahi.
Hellstén’s critically acclaimed debut album, *Hiipivä, pimeä hiljaisuus* (Creeping, Dark Silence), was released in the spring of 2024. Her latest single, *Elimäki*, was released in the fall of 2025 in collaboration with Kuohu Records. Hellstén is currently working on her upcoming second album.
