Mikki Paajanen

My name is Mikki Paajanen, and I don’t really fit into any one category. I am a sculptor, painter, teacher, adventurer, and storyteller whose life has taken me from the metropolises of Barcelona and New York, through the deserts and jungles of South America, to the sculpture studios of Jurva.

During my travels, I have experienced moments that have permanently changed my view of life, people, and creativity. You can see the traces of these experiences in my work: they blend the tranquility of the North, the South American zest for life, and a deep interest in the inner world of human beings.

Over the decades, I have taught art, creativity, and well-being to hundreds of students, while also developing my own artistic expression. My works exist at the intersection of sculpture, painting, and relief art, where wood, color, and light engage in a constant dialogue.

At the heart of my art—and my entire life—lies a playful curiosity that invites me to explore and experiment. Through it, the world reveals itself as full of surprises and always fresh.
