Municipal Affairs

Affairs of the Cities is based on a single scene from the work *Kulovalkea*. The sustained, repetitive juggling choreography built around coffee cups originated from a desire to portray influential figures who spend their time engaged in apparent activity—without actually doing much of anything. The title of the work refers to the old saying “affairs of the cities,” which was once used when discussing politics, power, and their underlying contexts.
